  I am the Public Relations Coordinator at Big Sandy Community and Technical College. Prior to I served as the Public Relations Assistant in the same department. Both jobs have consistently changed requiring constant personal growth, evolvement, and multitasking. In our office alone I oversee budgetary controls, cost collection, bill payment, filing and other billing requirements. As needs arose I would also handle purchasing for multiple college departments. Additional job duties are photography for the college for events such as Commencement, Convocation and many other large- and small-scale events as well as photographing our college staff, faculty, and students. This entails working with cameras, lighting, backdrops, and other necessary items. I am currently working to secure my drone license to add additional photography/videography options to my skillset. I am also the Social Media Coordinator for the College. I write content, purchase ads, and oversee publication on all our social channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and our College App). I have certifications in Adobe Photoshop, and utilize the entire Adobe Suite, which allow adaptations to photos/videos to be made for publicity. I also work in Quick Books, Canva as well as with Shutterstock, Storyblocks and Promo. I have worked alongside others and taken the lead in areas such as the college brand, spirit branding, safety and security, student activities, hiring committees and event planning/coordination. I previously served Big Sandy Community and Technical College as a Staff Assistant in Public Relations. Big Sandy Community and Technical College and the East Kentucky Science Center and Varia Planetarium merged on July 1, 2008. My job duties were, but were not limited to, advertising the college per advisement of the Public Relations Director, photographing events, arranging articles, answering phones, and designing and printing materials for various college events.
