The UR Mentoring Network was established in 2017 with a focus on mentoring and uplifting students at Armstrong High School. Our mentors work one on one with the mentees and are paired until the students graduate. URMN was founded in order to connect University of Richmond students to the greater Richmond community through service and learning. URMN is aimed at helping students in the Richmond Public School System achieve their personal and academic goals. We do this by targeting our curriculum towards college readiness, personal development, and academic growth. We are an entirely student run organisation and since our founding, we have been able to give a $1,000 scholarship to help a student transition to college. We have brought in a speaker from the Community Wealth Building, and taken them on a tour of our campus in addition to our bi weekly meetings. This organisation has been one of the most rewarding experiences during my time at UR, and despite the hurdles, I am so excited to help URMN grow as President. Show less
