May 5, 2020 To Whom It May Concern: It is my pleasure to recommend Jennifer Lara as a clinical social worker. I had the privilege of supervising Ms. Lara during her year-long field placement at Helping Hearts California, from May 2019 through May 2020. I am confident that Ms. Lara has the professional social work skills and personal strengths that will be an asset to your agency. Ms. Lara exceeded expectations since the beginning of her placement. She was eager to take on a caseload of six individual clients and run a weekly therapy group starting in her first semester. Not only did she provide quality services to her clients, Ms. Lara also excelled in documenting her sessions and was unusually quick at mastering our high standards for progress notes. During the time I have known Ms. Lara, I have been impressed by her work ethic and personal characteristics. She always came prepared to her field placement, bringing forth well-researched interventions to her individual and group therapy sessions. Ms. Lara also demonstrates excellent communication skills and is efficient in managing her time. She works collaboratively with colleagues and peers and is receptive to feedback from others. Because of her personal qualities and professional skills, Ms. Lara has my full recommendation for employment. I am confident that she will be dedicated to her role and valuable to the clients and community she serves. Please contact me if you have any further questions regarding my recommendation. Sincerely, Michelle Knopf, LCSW LCS26863

Antelope Valley Partners for Health Welcome Baby Program works with families in the Antelope Valley to support them prenatally and post-partum with a light touch program that promotes understanding of infant education, child development, home safety, building stronger relationships within the family, and providing resources in the AV that families of all socio-economic class can use. As a parent coach we focus on supporting the client through their pregnancy, whether it is lactation education, birth education, and parental mental health. After baby arrives, we focus on topics mentioned previously and how to support mother and family during the family dynamic changes. We encourage building stronger families by teaching about prevention methods in the home, and reinforcing free services in the AV to support the family all together. The light touch program works with families for an overall time frame of 18 months (we do not meet every month). Show less
