I have known Dr. Gervais as a social work educator and professional colleague for over thirteen years. She is an amazing social worker and educator with an ability to engage, create, manage, and lead any mission put in front of her. I initially worked and supervised Dr. Gervais when she served as the Field Education Coordinator for the College of St. Scholastica Social Work undergraduate program - distant site in St. Paul, MN. In 2007 this was a new distance program that required building the field education program 'from the ground up'. In her role, she was responsible for recruiting and advising students, recruiting and training prospective field/agency sites. She also developed curriculum and course delivery infrastructures that served diverse student populations with multiple challenges and learning needs. In addition, Dr. Gervais was instrumental in creating a technology-based system for appropriately matching students to field education settings to their learning skills and needs. Dr. Gervais was also an EdD peer colleague during our doctoral studies at Hamline University, where her enthusiasm for learning and creating were contagious among her cohort peers. In recent years Dr. Gervais has served as a speaker in my social work courses at a tribal community college where her expertise in childrens mental health, SEL, and family interventions have been valuable to my students.

Julie Luker, Ed.D.

Dr. Gervais is highly skilled at identifying and integrating student learning outcomes within higher education course curriculum. I am honored to have had the opportunity to present with her at local and regional conferences. At these conferences, we highlighted effective course development techniques that serve to strategically address student learning outcomes while ensuring alignment between delivery formats (face-to-face versus online).
