I’ve worked in newsrooms for almost 20 years and Jennifer is one of the most memorable colleagues I’ve had. I hired her as a reporter and assistant editor at the Northwest Arkansas Business Journal and we worked together for several years. She excelled in the important elements of her job, like copyediting, but she also didn’t shy away from challenging writing assignments: and told the story effortlessly. Her willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities is something to be desired in any professional. Jennifer would be a wonderful asset to any company!

I worked with Jennifer for two years at the Northwest Arkansas Business Journal, and she often found stories to write that were interesting and unique. I think this ability allowed her to become a great storyteller as she could frequently tell stories that no one else had written. She takes the time to plan for and develop each story through research and communication with sources. At the same time, her stories are clear and concise. Some of her other skills include her curiosity and genuine interest in finding out the details in order to improve her stories. She cares about her work and those with whom she works. And she is helpful. She helped me when I was starting at the Business Journal and could answer just about any question I had and took the time to do so when she didn't have to, even when she no longer worked there. She is organized. A lot of the work to be a successful journalist relates to good organizational skills. Being organized is extremely important when you have to tight deadlines to meet. Finally, she is friendly, engaging and understanding. She is good at starting conversations with others and is careful to listen intently without simply listening to respond but to understand. I enjoyed working with her and looked forward to reading her stories each day.
