  Provide physical therapy interventions to increase independence of patients in a sub-acute unit, as well as facilitating physical therapy treatment with patients on long term care units. Treatment includes gait training, therapeutic exercise, balance and coordination, and endurance training. Patients seen in this setting have a wide range of diagnoses such as orthopedic, cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and overall muscular weakness. Awareness of comorbidities including diabetes, hypo/hypertension, cardiac and respiratory complications are reviewed to be able to safely and effectively work with the patient. Also trained and educated in physical modalities including electrical stimulation, shortwave diathermy, and ultrasound to aid in pain management and neuromuscular reeducation and documentation to support all treatments.
