I was responsible for building and advocating the Renew TN campaign throughout the cities of Chattanooga / Knoxville. Some of my everyday tasks included planning community events, building relationships with community members and organizations, tracking/inputting data, and advocating the message of clean, affordable energy in Tennessee. I constantly worked with and trained volunteers to aid in the campaign efforts and help grow the movement. I was in control over one third of site budget which ranged from $16,000-$27,000. I used discretion to evaluate and select construction projects in order for the projects to be both in budget and time frame allotted. I was in a position of great leadership, planning and communicating to coordinate and complete 50+ home repair projects. When a problem on the construction site arose, I got called to problem solve under pressure and collaborate with my team to find the best solutions. I was adaptable throughout the months in my new environment and developed relationships with 30+ homeowners, 100+ of youth volunteers, local liaisons and created a bond with my 7 fellow staff members every summer.

    • Research Intern
      • 2016 - 2016

In my semester abroad I completed an Independent Study Project where I researched the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s) to develop an initiative that highlighted Bush Heritage’s commitment to the SDG's. I oriented myself with the well-established nonprofit and mapped current Australian government policy on climate change, conservation, and commitment to the UN Sustainable Development Goals - specifically Goal 15 and 17. I stayed motivated and accountable throughout the short internship in order to get the research accomplished. I then charted out potential corporate partners to financially support this initiative. I attended a workshop on cross-sector development learning how the nonprofit, corporate, and government sectors can unite to accomplish global goals. At the end of the internship I wrote a 50+ page research paper and presented a 30 min presentation outlining the deliverables & experience I was challenge with, what I implemented, and different research methods I used.
