  When I started in 1992, I began in the accounts payable department paying the utilities for the stores. I would also help other people in the department with payments to vendors, making sure the proper store or department were charged. After a year or so, I was promoted to accountant and I was in charge of the EFT payments made to vendors for the gas that was delivered to the stores. My responsibility was reconciling the EFT payments made to the vendors and what the store actually received. During this time Cumberland Farms closed their Milk division and started to buy their milk from an outside vendor. This responsibility was also assigned to me during this time. I had to reconcile what the store received and what was billed to the stores and cut them a check each month. I was also assigned the job of reconciling the accounts payable department by looking at reports and making a spreadsheet for employees in other departments. Show less
