I work as a charge nurse on a cardiac telemetry unit. As a charge nurse I lead the unit by working with management to organize staffing, unit assignments and assisting with incident reports. I am an active member of the Unit Base Council Committee where I help enforce unit improvement strategies. I sit on the infection control committee where I perform monthly audits and make sure staff and visitor are abounding by hospital infection control protocols. I assist in upholding National Patient Safety guidelines by providing monthly in-services on fall and CAUTI preventions. As a preceptor, I engage students in critical thinking, while assisting them in becoming effective future nurses.
