Obviously we also need politicians and corporates but they are more trapped in old systems. Entrepreneurs are here to take the lead. Our mission: inspiring and activating entrepreneurs to make their first and next step in contributing to an inclusive society, by connecting them to the wonderful social initiatives that are already out there. Our dream: that social entrepreneurship is simply called entrepreneurship again, because it makes totally sense to all entrepreneurs to actively contribute to a better world. Our strategy is to make major global issues small and tangible, by introducing entrepreneurs to the incredible social initiatives that make a positive impact everyday.   Challenge Day has been on an international mission for 35 years: to create a world where young people feel safe, loved and valued. Na de succesvolle KRO/NPO serie ‘Over de Streep’ met Arie Boomsma, is de stichting Challenge Day Nederland in 2010 begonnen. Inmiddels heeft Challenge Day in Nederland meer dan 50.000 jonge mensen rechtstreeks bijgestaan in hun sociaal-emotionele ontwikkeling. In mijn functie als directeur van de stichting Challenge Day Nederland was ik naast de spin in het web ook verantwoordelijk geweest voor budgettering, inzet freelancetrainers, programma inhoud, maatwerk en project beoordelingen, licenties en de samenwerking met het team, bestuur en de Amerikaanse oprichters. Ik had o.a. vernieuwingsprocessen, strategische vraagstukken, relatie- en projectmanagement in mijn takenpakket. Daarbij heb ik ervaringen met fondswerving en sponsorevents en heb ik ook veel Nederlandse en internationale connecties en relaties binnen het onderwijs en bij goede doelen en mission-driven NGO’s opgebouwd. Desondanks is de stichting Challenge Day in Nederland helaas eind 2022 opgeheven. De begeleiding van jongeren wordt door de Breek Academy van Stichting Breekjaar gewaarborgd en gecontinueerd. Zij bieden een breed palet aan van op maat gemaakte interventies op klas niveau maar ook in grote groepen, met een hoge impact en zorgvuldige nazorg. Show less

  My professional journey has took me from working within healthcare and fulfilling professional and management roles in this sector to developing, learning and supporting new initiatives outside of healthcare. Together with an experienced and successful founder/entrepreneur I had the opportunity to participate in a wide range of projects, learning & development, trainings, courses and events. The main activities and responsibilities were co-developing, organizing and supporting seminars and training courses with the main themes of personal development, collaboration and leadership.   Responsible for building, re-teaming and managing a team of 40 heath care professionals in the specific field of pediatric rehabilitation. Task: in a period of two years the development of 1strong and successfully functioning team of paediatric rehabilitation professionals and building towards a better relationship with important network partners. Nederlands: Ik was medeverantwoordelijk voor het hervormen van drie kinder-teams naar één kindercluster en heb daarbij leidinggegeven aan 40 zorgprofessionals (HBO en Universitair opgeleid) op het specifieke gebied van de kinderrevalidatie. Uitgevoerde opdracht: het binnen 2 jaar ontwikkelen van een krachtig en succesvol functionerend team van kinderrevalidatie professionals en het werken aan bereiken van een verbeterde relatie met de belangrijkste netwerkpartners.   Activities: examining and treating children aged 4 to 18 years with various congenital abnormalities (including cerebral palsy, spina bifida, heart defects, muscle diseases, juvenile rheumatism and coordination disorders: DCD). Seconded to the REC (Region Expertise Center) Midden Brabant in 2010 with responsibility for the ambulant supervision of children in regular education with a motor disability. Activities: researching/supervising students and advising teachers, parents and colleagues in primary care. Providing training for teachers about children's motor disabilities and giving courses and workshops on Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD). Partly developed a number of products for children with motor problems and solution-focused treatments.Nederlands: Werkzaamheden waren onderzoeken en behandelen van kinderen in de leeftijd van 4 tot 18 jaar met diverse aangeboren afwijkingen (o.a. cerebrale parese, spina bifida, hartafwijkingen, spierziektes, juveniele reuma en coördinatiestoornissen: DCD). Gedetacheerd in 2010 aan de REC (Regio Expertise Centrum) Midden Brabant met verantwoordelijkheid voor de ambulante begeleiding van kinderen in het regulier onderwijs met een motorische beperking. Werkzaamheden: onderzoeken/begeleiden van leerlingen en het adviseren van leerkrachten, ouders en collega’s in de eerste lijn. Verzorgen van scholing voor leerkrachten over motorische beperkingen van kinderen en het geven van cursussen en workshops over Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD). Mede een aantal producten ontwikkeld t.b.v. kinderen met motorische hulpvragen en oplossingsgericht werken. Show less
