I am the City of Palo Alto IT PMO Manager. I have had the pleasure of working with Jennifer on the E-Plan Check project. During the project, Jennifer was able to clearly communicate her business needs to IT, making it easy for me to provide consultation. Jennifer is an attentive listener. I made a suggestion regarding flowcharting the E-Plan Check business process and was surprised to see a fully detailed flowchart mere days later. I would work with or hire Jennifer with high confidence.

A few notable projects include creating and managing a multi-departmental right-of-way notification system, managing a department-wide planning effort to have paperless plan review, leading a management effort to improve employee job satisfaction, and assisting departments through the budget process as their budget contact.

Additionally, I worked with our team to administer the Business Registry Program where we help businesses register with the city and collect the required yearly fees. Also, I have assisted in enhancing our department's communication with stakeholders through creating multimedia presentations to display our priorities, progress, and vision for the future.

At the City of Palo Alto, I was part of administering the Green Building Program in the Development Services Center. Here, I assisted staff and permit applicants in understanding green building requirements. Additionally, I increased the fluidity of the green building program within our team. To troubleshoot and streamline processes, as part of the Green Building Task Force, I collaborated with staff members to strengthen the program. Also, I facilitated green building new employee orientation training and designed training materials to ensure all members of our team were on the same page from the start.

As part of the City of Palo Alto's Water Sustainability and Climate Action Plan Subcommittee, I had the opportunity to be a part of the creation of a water action plan for the City of Palo Alto. I also reviewed yearly city-wide sustainability trends and provided quality control for efficiency data for the Earth Day Report. Additionally, I designed surveys to gather data for the Electrification Study for Palo Alto's Zero Net Energy goals. I also had the experience of developing my professional leadership skills during the training events for the interns of multiple cities and through individual mentoring by top city management professionals.

As a research intern, I assisted the residents of Santa Clara County with recycling information services from the call center. I educated them on what could be recycled and how, as well as informing them of how to dispose of their household hazardous waste. I also increased the accessibility of recycling for residents by updating the database to ensure accurate information on where to drop off their items. As a research assistant, I was able to gain experience in mobilizing change at the local level through community engagement. I collaborated with community members to hear out their needs and met with local government officials to start creating solutions. In order to gather helpful data for community safety, I collected and analyzed data to see if there was a relationship between crime locations and the locations of certain stores. I worked to compile this data to push for policy changes that could benefit the community.
