Jamii seeks to leverage two initial platforms to connect people - Vojago and My Tribe - Our World. Vojago is a tool for migrants and refugees to capture their job skills and education, save their key documents - from diplomas to professional licenses to medical records, identify who their family members are, and communicate with other Vojago users. Vojago can also be used by those in areas which are subject to extreme weather where loss of home and goods is possible. My Tribe - Our World connects school-age youth from minority or tribal communities who are often marginalized by their societies. These youth communicate as modern day pen-pals using blogs, vlogs, and video chat to interact with others who seem very different, but are often very similar. My Tribe - Our World encourages users to contribute to its repository of cultural experiences to capture 'the local' in an age of globalization - from arts to oral stories and history to ceremonies.
