Jennifer successfully completed the strategic marketing simulation at Portsmouth Business School in March 2016. In doing so, she demonstrated great customer insight, situation awareness, strategic thinking and implementation. She is clearly someone with a keen interest in sales and marketing, enjoys new challenges and sticks with tasks to the end.

Spent time getting to know the way in which Seymac Distributions Ltd. and App for Cornwall function within the Cornish tourism industry. During my time as an intern with Seymac and App for Cornwall I focused on two aspects; social media and discussing client contracts for media packages. The social media involved creating brand awareness for both Seymac and App for Cornwall. This was achieved not only by developing their current use of social media platforms (Facebook and Twitter) but also by creating and managing a new App for Cornwall Instagram account to increase brand awareness and app downloads further. In terms of discussing client contracts, meetings would be held to identify which media packages would best fit particular clients. These meetings were focused on considering the budget, target audience and expectations of each client in order to create a unique media package.

This project was endorsed by the University of Portsmouth and aimed to measure the impact of growth and fixed mind-sets on pupils opinions of education and also their aptitudes. The requirements of this role included conducting tests for 2 hours with year 5/6 students following strict guidelines and time limits in order to maintain reliable data collection. This data collection required independent work in some instances and working with a colleague in others. Therefore an ability to work effectively as a team but also to manage the workload alone were vital within this project.
