I came to Pekin for a career advancement. Of course the teaching aspect is the same, but I do a lot more now. I am the senior class advisor and am a section chair for a couple of classes. There are also 2000 more students here, so the work load is intense!! I have received the Most Inspirational Teacher award from Western Illinois University during my tenure at PCHS. Yeah!! My first "real" job!! During my time at Bushnell, I served as a Freshman and Senior English teacher. I loved the small town aspect of this tiny school. I worked under a principal named Jerry Merrick and he was a true mentor and friend! Yeah!! My first "real" job!! During my time at Bushnell, I served as a Freshman and Senior English teacher.
