  The beginning of our startup-journey! 🦄 Equipix is creating camera based technology for movement assessments of horses, with the use of computer vision. These assessments can be used for tracking progression in the horse's movement patterns, early detection of lameness related injuries and adjusting training and treatment of horses. Today, there is broad agreement among players in the horse industry that the general level of knowledge around assessments of the movement pattern of horses is too low, and that it is difficult to make objective assessments of the movement pattern. Assessments of horses’ movement patterns are used to adapt services in several areas, such as shoeing, training and medical care on horses. Today, the majority of assessments of movement patterns in horses are based on the individual's subjective experience in the field, as well as subjective opinions about healthy movement patterns. There exist tools that can be used to produce objective data of the movement pattern of horses, such as sensor based systems. However, these systems are expensive and are less available for the majority of the horse industry as they are mainly available at bigger veterinary clinics. Equipix lowers the geographical and economic distances for actors in the horse industry by developing a mobile solution for movement assessments. These movement assessment can lower risk associated with wear injuries on horses and provide information and insight about the horse's physical progress and movements. Show less
