      • Nov 2018 - Present

When I joined Lalibela in November 2018, I started off in the Reservations Department. In 2021, when we were going through the Covid-19 crisis, I then became involved in the Social Media Department when we restructured our team. I now work for both Departments on a daily basis. Both roles are very diverse and time-consuming and require excellent organisational skills and time management. My Reservations Department responsibilities include: * Reservations (Email & Telephonic) – Direct guests (Local and International) and Agent bookings. * Preparing quotations and invoices. * Receipting and following up on payments. * General administrative duties (Filing, receipting, opening and maintaining files). * Sending guests feedback letters after check out (Guest liaison). * Monitoring the online chat and responding to enquiries. * Compiling spreadsheets for the Director. (Social Media experience 2021 - Present) My Social Media Department responsibilities include: * Planning all social media content for Facebook and Instagram on a monthly basis. * Updating the website when needed (Using Wordpress). * Creating website pages for relevant advertisements. * Compiling Facebook advertisements on Ads Manager and monitoring their daily performance. * Designing advertisements for Facebook Sponsored Ads as well as for online marketing publications.  * Writing blogs for the website. * Responding to Tripadvisor, Booking.com and Google Reviews. * Updating the Wetu Online Brochure and Booking.com platforms when needed. • Administration Assistant
      • Aug 2018 - Nov 2018

I took on this position as a temporary Administrative Clerk at Datnis Nissan as I was unemployed due to being retrenched from my previous position. This position was a learning curve for me, as it was in a different industry from what I was used to. I learnt many valuable skills in this position. Due to this role being something completely new, I was complimented on being able to adapt to a new work environment and learn systems that I was not familiar with, in a short space of time. I believe this shows my ability to adapt to new work environments and furthermore shows that I am a quick learner when it comes to learning tasks/industries outside of my expertise. My main responsibilities included working for the Total Petrol Station as there was one on site at the Datnis Nissan Dealership. My responsibilities included: * Receipting payments from customers and driveway shift totals. * Counting of all cash on a daily basis. * Daily banking of all cash from customers and driveway shifts (Total Petrol Station). * Closing driveway shifts (Total Petrol Station) on a daily basis and processing all information on Excel spreadsheets. * Processing driveway shifts (Total Petrol Station) on Evolve and ISIS Systems. * Check and file invoices for various departments. * Assist with creditors and month-end debtor's statements. * General office administration (filing, receipting, errands). • Bucklands Private Game Reserve

    • Lodge Manager
      • Feb 2017 - Mar 2018

Bucklands Private Game Reserve was a small, family-owned game reserve situated near Grahamstown in the Eastern Cape. The reserve had a four-bedroom lodge and a tented camp with four tents. Due to it being a small business, my role as Lodge Manager was diverse and required me to be an all-rounder and cover various responsibilities. I got retrenched from my position as Lodge Manager due to the business facing financial difficulties. My responsibilities included: * Managing staff by assigning and overseeing daily tasks. * Planning menu's prior to guest's arrival as we did not have a chef. The Lodge Manager was responsible cooking for the guests. * Preparing and cooking all meals for guests (Breakfast, high tea and a 3 course dinner). * Monthly stocktaking in various departments of the lodge. * Purchasing all lodge supplies from suppliers - We did not receive deliveries. * Calculating monthly salaries and performing general HR duties. * Office administration - preparing guest documents, month-end and general office duties. * Hosting both International and local hunters and Ecotourists - This included welcoming them on arrival and engaging with them throughout their stay until departure. * General farm duties - The reserve had a breeding herd of buffalo and sable so when there were no guests in the lodge I had to assist with feeding the breeding herds and other general farm duties such as basic maintenance and ensuring that the lodge gardens were well kept.
