Operations Supervisor
-
Sep 2010 - Jul 2012
As Operations Supervisor at the Gaithersburg Marriott Washingtonian Center, I supervised all Front Office and At Your Service operations and often served as the Hotel Manager on duty. I actively participated in personnel management, including the interviewing and hiring process, as well as performance reviews, evaluations, and coaching. My responsibilities in this dynamic role varied from strengthening employee morale through engaging activities and competitions, to creating the weekly front office schedule based upon budgeting and productivity. I also enjoyed coming up with creative ways to drive our guest satisfaction scoreboard; I played a key role in increasing overall guest satisfaction from 83% in 2010 to 87.8% in 2011, bringing the hotel to rank 15th out of 339 hotels in the brand, and maintained an 88% guest satisfaction in 2012 through my date of departure. I was honored to be named the Gaithersburg Marriott Washingtonian Center’s Associate of the Month for March 2011. I also was awarded the Marriott Spirit to Serve Award in November 2010 and March 2011. Show less

Front Office Agent
-
Sep 2009 - Sep 2010
As a Front Office Agent at the world's largest Marriott property, I often served as the first point of contact for our guests and warmly assisted them with all arrival and departure procedures. Each day presented me with the opportunity to assist with guest questions, concerns, and feedback. I thoroughly enjoyed working closely with my team and other departments in the hotel to come up with creative ways to personalize each guest's stay and to make it as enjoyable and memorable as possible.

Research Supervisor
-
May 2006 - Sep 2009
I began as a research assistant for a large study in clinical psychology, the Attention and Memory Abilities of Children who have Sustained a Head Injury, which totaled more than 150 child participants. I was trained in the administration of many psychological assessments including the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-IV (WISC-IV) and the Test of Everyday Attention in Children (TEA-Ch), and successfully administered full testing batteries to participants on a regular basis. I later supervised our team of research assistants and oversaw all data collection, data scoring, and data entry. I further developed my research skills through an important multi-site study in clinical neuropsychology, Biochemical Markers of Traumatic Brain Injury, where I collected neuropsychological outcome data from over 80 adult participants, all of whom had sustained severe head injuries. I balanced empathy and professionalism while interviewing participants and their families upon hospital admission and up to 6 months post-injury. I was responsible for administering and scoring full neuropsychological testing batteries at various intervals post-injury, which included the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale (WAIS), the Test of Everyday Attention (TEA), and many others, and reported my findings weekly during quality control meetings. Poster presentations at the 2009 annual meeting of the International Neuropsychological Society, Atlanta, GA (listed under J. Alberto): • Watson, W.D., Greenfeder, A., Alberto, J., Wishin, J., Hannay, J., Heaton, S.C. (2009, February). The Relationship between early Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) Scores and later general functional and cognitive outcome in adult severe traumatic brain injury (TBI). • McCann, S.J., Patent, A., Alberto, J., Heaton, S.C. (2009, February). Examination of Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) symptom ratings and attention test performance in childhood traumatic brain injury (TBI) and ADHD: Evidence for TBI subgroups. Show less
