This three year project is being led by St Giles Trust in partnership with Evolve and Look Ahead.Peer Circles works with those who are confronting wider issues in their journey towards, or back into, employment. It provides a tailored 1-2-1 approach that offers coaching, connection with ETE opportunities, and specialist advice from delivery partners Shelter (housing) and CGL (substance misuse). It also offers an opportunity for those with lived experience to train as Peer Advisors including a placement on the project working with their own clients. Show less

Founded in 1998, Trailblazers now works out of seven prisons in London and the South East. Volunteer mentors are recruited and trained to work with young offenders for up to 9 months in prison, and up to 6 months on release, providing a 'through the gate' approach to support. Sessions are weekly whilst in prison, and every 2 or 4 weeks outside depending on need. Mentors provide support, guidance, focus and encouragement, while making links with other agencies (housing, substance misuse, education, training or employment services) on the mentee's behalf, to strengthen their life outside of prison and to make positive changes to their situation, with the ultimate aim to break a possible cycle of re-offending.As a Project Manager, I actively recruited mentors and mentees and managed the relationships, both in prison and in the community. Growing a new project also involved extensive networking both internally and externally in order to build support and recruitment. I also submitted monthly, quarterly and annual reports to Senior Management, the Board of Trustees and external funders. Show less
