Working at Superdrug included a lot more than just till work, which requires efficiency and good cash handling skills. Having good communication skills were essential for this role; talking about and listening to customers' enquiries and problems and resolving them as efficiently as possible was one of the main goals that I strove to reach and achieve. Stock replenishment and rotation were also a large part of the job, ensuring that the products were within their sell by date, processing all of the paperwork was day to day jobs for me. Whilst also having to be independent and have responsibility in order to be successful in this role, it was also essential to be able to work as part of a team and to also have good leadership skills from time to time. in conclusion, it was vital that I was hard working, and was able to adapt quickly to different situations when needed to do so. • Urban Property Ltd.

    • Real Estate Agent
      • Feb 2018 - Oct 2018

Initially I began this job in order to cover a maternity leave, and I in fact learnt so much about administration and estate agency. At first I only answered the phones, completing small tasks that were asked of me. However, eventually it was important that I helped with the large workload that is bound to estate agency and after a week or so of finding my ground, i began to submit information such as tenancy applications and right to rent checks. Also it was a daily job for me to sort through and answer the large amount of emails and enquiries that we received daily, ensuring all of our customers were informed and up to date about any purchase or application that was processing. In addition to this, one of my main responsibilities was to be an accompanied viewer. This role meant that I had to be punctual, organised and good at time management; ensuring that I was at the correct house on time, and I had the correct keys with me, in order to help the potential buyer view the house, and to be able to give them the correct information whilst also retaining a professional and friendly appearance was key. Here I spent a week, observing and learning the inner works of a busy veterinary group. I was able to witness surgeries and consultations that came into the practice. I also filled out basic paperwork that I was allowed to do, as I was very limited to what I could and could not do without qualifications or insurance. • Work Placement
      • May 2015 - May 2015

I did a 1 week work placement during Year 10 at Pets at Home, which gave me my initial experience of a real workplace; which also made me want to obtain a job of my own afterwards. Overall the job was the same as a regular retail job, but with other, unique jobs that had to be done regularly and thoroughly. Cleaning out the animals in the morning was a task itself, ensuring the animals got the right food and environment was vital and also a difficult job when there are so many different animals that require completely different conditions, for example, a rabbit tat needed hay and dry food and fruit, in comparison to a lizard that had to have live food as well as their full enclosure sprayed with water to maintain that natural rainforest environment. As well as looking after the animals, the customers had to be looked after also, and so I had to learn quickly and adapt even quicker in order to be of any use when a customer asked me for advice or the location of a certain product.
