I have known Jenna Luque for just over three years. In that time she has worked part-time as a speech-language pathologist in my practice. She has made time to work with several clients with mild-severe communication needs while also pursuing a Ph.D. at Northwestern University. Mrs. Luque has utilized her knowledge and skill as a clinician along with her expertise in linguistics to provide a total communication program to her clients, working on increasing their expressive and receptive communication abilities. As a positive consequence, the clients continually exhibit less frustration and more interaction with family and peers. Mrs. Luque is the type of clinician who shows dedication to her clients and their families. She is highly motivated, dedicated, compassionate, and knowledgeable. She has shown the ability to manage working as a clinician while also attending a highly demanding academic-research program with grace and energy. Her ability to balance her time with these highly demanding responsibilities is impressive and reflects her dedication and her interest in integrating research with clinical application.

Native Advantage offers English and ASL services to second language learners anywhere in the world. We offer conversation services, pronunciation evaluations and sessions, and consultations on writing and presentations all with native speakers. I have met a lot of people who come to the US after studying English for years, and interacting with native speakers is always both helpful and shocking. I believe native speaker interaction will improve a learner's language and distance should not get in the way. Show less

The International Summer Institute (ISI) is a summer program for incoming international PhD students at Northwestern University. The program is held in August each year and is designed to acclimate students to the US through immersion in both the English language and the American culture. Over the three summers I worked with this program, I have taught Test Prep, Pronunciation, American Culture and Conversation, and Improv. I have also been responsible for individual tutoring for 6 students per summer and attendance at cultural events. Show less
