Head Lifeguard
-
May 2018 - Present
I have been CPR certified three different times due to the long duration of this job. It is my responsibility to clean the pool and make sure patrons are safe and satisfied at Creekside Tennis and Swim. As of 2023, this is my fifth year working at this pool and I was elected head lifeguard in 2020. I have lived in Creekside my whole life and have made many different connections with the families that come to swim at this pool.

At this position, I would help clean this exercise facility, restock waters, sweep, mop, check people in and out of workout classes, help people with purchasing memberships, sell retail and waters/snacks, clean all of the workout equipment, scrub bathrooms and showers, and more. This job taught me a lot about customer service. Along with seating people, I would clean tables, help bring out food, and answer the phone for reservations and to go orders. I stopped working here because I did not have time due to my job at Creekside, but this job also taught me about multitasking. I would be on my feet for 10 hours at a time. This restaurant is near a very busy part of Shem Creek, and the wait times would generally be three hours at a time. This job taught me a lot about customer service.
