Apr 2018 - Present
NJF Wellness was established in 2009 by Nicholas J Flanigan with the aim to assist all eligible ex-service men and women who have a clinical need for exercise physiology services. NJF is a registered allied health provider with Medicare Australia specialising in Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA), work cover, Chronic Disease Management (CDM - formally EPC) and group Diabetes Exercise & Education sessions. As the owner for the Northern Tasmania Centres I aim to provide clinical exercise interventions for eligible clients with existing chronic and complex medical conditions and injuries; both physical and mental. Interventions are provided through gym, pool or home-based exercise delivery including health and physical activity education, advice and support; and lifestyle modification with a strong focus on achieving behavioural change. These programs have a strong wellness focus which emphasises improving quality of life. We help clients to help themselves and strongly believe you are never to old to train. Care Forward is a division of Care Assessment Consultants, a locally owed Tasmanian company that deals with the assessment and coordination of aged care services. Here, I provided clinical exercise interventions for elderly clients with existing chronic and complex medical conditions and injuries. These interventions were provided through home based exercise delivery including health and physical activity education, advice and support; and lifestyle modification with a strong focus on achieving behavioural change. These programs had a strong re-enablement focus which emphasises improving quality of life. My client base included those covered under HACC and Commonwealth Home Support (CHSP) funding (via the My Aged Care referral pathway), Home Care Package recipients, DVA and Medicare.
