It is with great honor that I get to recommend Jenn Bruns- a truly extraordinary person. I have known Jenn now for nearly 20 years. While our meeting happened our second day of college, we got to know one another in our sophomore year when I was Jenn’s TA. The first time Jenn’s writing was assigned to me, I was inspired by her capacity and intellect. In fact, I felt she should be the one grading my papers. As the semester carried on, a theme emerged. Jenn was an incredible writer who understood the content of our major at levels well beyond that of other students. It was clear she needed to become a TA. From there, Jenn and I have kept a long standing friendship both personally and professionally. In our first few years of teaching (respectively on opposite ends of the country), we would get on the phone and problem solve how to be better for our students. When Jenn moved back to CO, and I returned for a visit, I had the great opportunity to see Jenn’s classroom and once again was inspired by the work Jenn was doing on behalf of her students and the school. To this day, Jenn continues to be one of the most inspiring women I have ever known. Beyond inspiring, she is tenacious-unrelenting in her work ethic and gets more done than anyone I have ever met. She sets the bar for excellence- driving toward results with her students that others deem not possible. She is creative -thinking outside the box and continuously finding ways for not just students to learn but for adults to become better instructors. Her tenure in education- working in different facets including teaching students in high needs areas in Las Vegas- to the classroom in Highlands Ranch- to building out a blended learning platform in the virtual education space- demonstrates Jenn’s plethora of experience, insight and perspective. Twenty years I have known Jenn Bruns and in these twenty years I have seen Jenn excel. If you want someone on your team with great intellect, a dedicated work ethic, and ingenuity, Jenn is by far one of the best candidates to be considered.
