As lead mechanical engineer and Project Coordinator I delivered projects across many sectors including commercial and retail, education, aged care and residential. As a Project Coordinator it was my responsibility to facilitate coordination between the groups on multi-discipline jobs and ensure effective communication was maintained with the client and external consultants and contractors. I was also involved in the QA and technical workflow teams. I joined John Packer Associates as a graduate and my role included designing public health services, heating and cooling and ventilation systems for commercial and domestic refurbishments and new builds. Projects ranged in size from small healthcare facilities to multi-million pound colleges and university buildings. I was involved in projects from start to finish providing system design, plant sizing and selection, writing specifications and communication with clients and design team members and continuing to provide consultancy service through installation until end of defects period. Summer Student Placement

This was a two month paid placement involving engineering and administrative tasks in the office and shadowing of engineers, visiting sites and doing surveys. I used Excel to calculate predicted job costs and compare with actual costs, researched the feasibility of using tidal power at the Dartford River Crossing, amended various reports and manuals and performed calculations based on diagrams and maps.
