Expanding my role to work across Tanzania and Malawi as Girl Effect launches Tujibebe, a new digital brand using mobile platforms to engage young people in the issues that affect their lives.

    • Deputy Country Director
      • Jun 2018 - Dec 2019

Girl Effect's youth brand in Malawi is Zathu. Zathu uses media to empower young people to reach their potential, championing youth voices and challenging gender stereotypes while addressing key issues such as health and education. We have a radio drama and talkshow, a magazine, and a band, which releases music and music videos. Since our inception in 2017, we have reached 6.7million listeners through our radio programme, and have created the biggest youth brand in the country.

    • Production Manager
      • Jul 2017 - May 2018

Through the power of music and storytelling we want Zathu to inspire friendships and help forge a more equal Malawi for boys and girls. As Production Manager I oversee the development and delivery of all the Zathu creative content including our radio show, music and music videos and national media campaigns.

Producer, BELIEVE YOUR EYES (Cannes, London, New York, 2016), an immersive virtual reality experience in partnership with Samsung USA. An ordinary demonstration of the Samsung Gear VR takes a sinister turn when the woman who led you into the room draws you deep into her nightmare. Winner, Silver Lion, Cannes International Festival of Creativity 2017. Producer, ABSOLUT SILVERPOINT (2016), an immersive narrative experience unlocked through an addictive app-based game you played on your phone. The more you play, the more the game comes to life, eventually pulling you into a dark mystery that you can only solve by stepping out of the game and confronting it in real life. Winner, Compelling Content, Marketing Week Awards 2016. In addition, I was producer for various unnamed Punchdrunk projects in Miami, London + New York. Show less

Joe Public, an award-winning theatrical marketing agency wanted to increase the charitable and educational partnerships between their West End clients and young people in need in the UK. I worked with Joe Public as a consultant to develop an education programme for shows including Wicked, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Memphis the Musical, and initiated charity partnerships for each production. In 2016, Wicked won Best Theatre Production for its work in education from the School Travel Awards. Show less

    • Enrichment Producer

At Punchdrunk I learned not just how to tell a story but to live it. For five years I was half of a 2-man team building our enrichment programme: creating experiences for and with people who wouldn't normally be able to access theatre and the arts. As a creative producer, my projects were far too many to mention but include: Under the Eiderdown. Our first literacy project in which a magical bric-a-brac shop visits a primary school. The shop is full of objects, and every object tells a story. All you need is the imagination of a storyteller to unlock it. Beneath the Streets. A co-production with HIJINX, a secret journey through the vaults underneath a Victorian shopping arcade. The Lost Lending Library. The Lost Lending Library is enormous, hundreds of floors high and full of millions of books. It leaps from place to place to seek out new stories and the most creative storytellers. The Uncommercial Traveller. A co-production with Arcola Theatre’s over 60s theatre group, as a Dickensian soup kitchen comes to life in modern day Hackney. The Uncommercial Traveller went on as a collaboration with the British Council as The Uncommercial Traveller: Living Cities, in Australia, South Africa, Pakistan & Singapore. During my time with the company I also worked on Punchdrunk's main productions, and managed Punchdrunk's workshop and internship programmes. Show less
