I had the privilege of working with Jelisa for seven years at the Task Force for Global Health at Emory University, where she excelled at strategic communications, writing, editing, contractor management and event planning. Everyone on our team over the years came to rely on Jelisa for her expertly honed communications skills, her unfailing communications instincts and her impeccable judgment. In her years of service to the Task Force for Global Health, Jelisa has made tremendous contributions to the work and mission of our organization. She has led a number of critical projects, most notably serving as the communications lead for many years on the high-profile Digital Bridge initiative, a complex public/private partnership for which she rapidly translated highly technical, dense documentation into beautiful and easily understandable collateral. She also led the redesign and launch of our new programmatic website, to great success. Over her seven years of service, Jelisa prolifically ghost-wrote thought leadership pieces for two successive executive directors, and secured, planned, wrote and refined a TEDx Emory talk for our current executive director. Her skills with organizational branding and public relations are top-tier, and Jelisa can be relied upon for innovative and creative ideas to take strategic communications to the next level. I'm grateful to have had the chance to work closely with Jelisa for so long. When Jelisa transitioned out of our organization into her new role, knowing how indispensable she had become to the organization, she put a meticulously planned transition plan into place, ensuring the team had documentation for every process within her role (and there were many!). Even a month after her departure, I am still regularly relying on this documentation, as well as pointing internal staff to it as needed and agreeing with their amazement at how thorough and easily actionable everything is. Jelisa is a brilliant communicator, a dependable team member, and a warm and friendly colleague. Any organization fortunate enough to bring her on board should count itself very lucky to have her on staff!

I have had the pleasure of mentoring and working with Jelisa for 5+ years. She is a profound writer with a hard nose for news. Jelisa is the trusted voice, writer and social media strategist for Elevation Ally. She has grown our share of voice and followers tremendously. Jelisa is not afraid to take risk. Period. She is also a savvy communicator who knows how to protect and preserve a brand. Deadlines are her best friend. She is organized and systematic and knows when to pivot for the greater good of a winning outcome. Jelisa is a loyal team player and will be an asset to anyone or organization.
