We discussed a lot about the Liquibase execution that is used for the database migration as I was one of the DEVs implementing and designing the functionality from the scratch. He was always an open minded DBA open to improve the process in order to make lives easier for DBAs and DEVs. In the end, he took the whole responsibility of maintaining the functionality and everyone benefits from that. The whole company relies now on Jeff if something breaks down as he will be able to do everything needed to fix it. If you leave something to jeff you don't longer need to worry about.

Jeff was fantastic to work with from day one. He was always available when I had a SQL question and he ALWAYS had the right answer. I sincerely hope that I can work with Jeff again in the future as he isa great asset to have.

      • Work with Java and QA departments to ensure the timely release of software updates.• Review data model change requests and investigate possible database impacts on PHI data, Replication, and archiving processes. • Ensure unit test procedures and documenting results are followed.• Perform code reviews and suggesting T-SQL changes for performance, best practices, company coding conventions, and readability.• Assist with coding and troubleshooting discovered bugs, build, and upgrade issues. • Mentored new and existing coworkers on build processes, naming and coding standards, ticket maintenance, and new processes.• Interview DBA and some manager candidates.• Attend Architect team meetings as database liaison to discuss data model change requests, present issues, and future enhancements.Success Examples:Led the process of learning and teaching our new method of upgrades using Liquibase and educating the rest of the company on its use and troubleshooting. This was a huge change to upgrade scripting for engineers but keeping the training simple had them up and running quickly. Taking advantage of our Liquibase upgrade routine, created a solution using T-SQL, SQL Stored Procedures and Liquibase, to allow upgrades without customers deleting their SQL Replication publications and rebuilding them. This saves customers days of work recreating and sending over the new snapshot. Enhanced our upgrade unit testing processes using T-SQL, Maven, Ant, and Liquibase to ensure replication published tables were properly accounted for in upgrade scripts. This saved QA time and dev cycles by finding conflicts right away.Helped design and implement a data import solution using SQL Stored Procedures, Views, and SSIS replacing an old Clover implementation. To alleviate contention during overnight data processing and import functions, suggested adding the option to stage processed data for later committing to OLTP. This allowed for daytime processing and overnight committing.
