Founded 501c3 organization, Charlottesville Community Baseball, which plays in the historic summer collegiate Valley Baseball League under the name of the Charlottesville Tom Sox. Built the original Board of Directors that oversaw all operations including operations, finance, marketing, game day operations, and player development. Served on the BOD from 2014-2018. Recruited up to 60 players in all seasons from 2016-present. Built an internship program whereby all players can work internships while they play, the only such program in the country that we know of. Part of team that recruiting college student volunteers, up to 30 each summer, to help the organization and give participants invaluable vocational experience in sports management. Started a baseball analytics department and staffed it with volunteers each season. Hired the coaches. Helped to build approximately $250k of infrastructure at Charlottesville High School, our home field. Helped raise the annual $100,000 annual budget each year. Show less

Founded 501c3 organization dedicated to changing lives through the game of baseball. Goal is to fill in the gaps in the local baseball scene. Built mentoring program called The Baseball Bunch that taught middle school aged players to invest in elementary aged players. Built coaches training program. Built travel baseball teams that focus on not only baseball, but also volunteerism, academics, and character development. Helped approximately 30 young men move into college baseball. Continue to help young men from around the county through the college recruiting process. Launched Charlottesville Community Baseball and the Charlottesville Tom Sox, a member of the Valley Baseball League. Led a campaign to restore an historic African American high school. Raised approximately $500k in financial gifts and in-kind donations towards our goal of $2.5 mil. Worked with the architects to develop site plan. Organized resident drive design process that brought together members of the former Burley High School community in collaboration with the Rose Hill community, the current Burley Middle School students; the UVA Equity Center; and the UVA School of Architecture. Invested time on a daily basis to meet those considering donations and doing the work. Did a public relations campaign on TV, radio and print. Work is ongoing, likely 2 last 2+ years. Show less
