Jeff was more than a helping hand when we interacted at SUNY Brockport. He always had a big smile on and was willing to drop everything to help out any student that walked in. He carry's himself well and is very knowledgeable. A Calm, welcoming demeanor that any organization should seek for.

Jeff came to work with me at Brockport in January 2014. During the interview process, I was impressed with how thoughtful and deliberate Jeff was in thinking through his transition from a career in human resources to one in higher education. He had targeted employer relations roles because of their clear transferable relationship to his former work in recruiting. While Jeff worked at Brockport, I was impressed with ability to build relationships - both with students around campus as well as employers. Students would come to the office to meet with "Uncle Jeff" and it was obvious that he had formed close relationships with them. While he was at Brockport, he strategically developed relationships with employers to increase the recruiting base, which included creating an employer advisory board. Jeff worked hard to increase his knowledge and skill base related to career development. He attended NACE's Management Leadership Institute and enrolled in a part-time EdD program while he was working at Brockport. His thesis focused on how men of color would prefer to engage in career exploration - a topic that is timely for the field. I am hoping that we will be able to implement his advice in the near future. I also really appreciated Jeff's emotional intelligence. There were many times that I would run a situation by him to ask for his interpretation or advice, which was always sound and freely given. I miss having him nearby when I need a sounding board! I wish Jeff the best as a career and higher educational professional and know that he will go far.
