  I currently serve as the operations manager at an environmental laboratory. My responsibilities include managing the laboratory instrumentation, training analysts to be as efficient as possible, maintaining our Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), and ensuring that our clients ever changing analytical requests are met on a day to day basis.As a trained analytical chemist with over 12 years of lab experience, I have served as group leader in the following departments: Volatiles, Semi-Volatiles, and Organics Dept. In this role, I trained and managed analysts on my team to efficiently analyze soils and waters for the presence of VOCs, SVOCs, Pesticides, Herbicides, PCBs, and several Drinking water methods.I am highly skilled in instrument analysis included but not limited to: Gas Chromatography- Mass Spectroscopy, Electron Capture detector, and Flame Ionization Detector.I continue to research new technology to ensure that our laboratory is on the forefront of the ever changing landscape in the environmental industry. Over the last several years I have made great strides in making changes in the analytical procedure to increase sample out through shortened run times all while increasing analytical sensitivity.In 2013, I personally undertook the implementation of our new Laboratory Information System which successfully modernized the laboratory. This included creating crystal reports to seamlessly generate automated reports to clients.Lastly, I routinely engage with our client base to ensure that we are meeting the ever changing needs of our clients. This has included creating customized reports, managing our client portal, and establishing analytical methods to meet their requests. Show less
