I worked with Jeff at Standard Molecular, where he was my CEO. Jeff is a professional dedicated to improving healthcare for patients and those who deliver it to them. He is a disciplined and meticulous thinker who drives himself and those around him to decisive action. He studies his current and prospective customers to develop a deep understanding of their problems. He sets company direction by formulating a hypothesis, gathering facts, and testing his hypothesis against the facts. He owns his own goals. He plans, executes, evaluates, and adjusts. He relentlessly pursues his goals. He always remains open to constructive criticism and advice, but understands the decision and the outcome belong to him. Above all his strategy, sales, and management skills, Jeff’s greatest quality is that he truly understands that a business is more than products and spreadsheets. A business is its people and the customers it serves. He is genuinely empathetic and compassionate, and honestly, that’s truly infectious. He respects the people around him. Challenges them. Supports them. Thanks them for their contributions. Still, Jeff is a realist. He has the courage to engage in the hard conversations, even when he knows they may be contentious, and he remains civil throughout the discussion. I would highly recommend him for any leadership position.
