I am a Board member of the 501c3 organization COAN www.COANHealth.com coan@coanhealth.com and have made 16 trips to Leon, Nicaragua since 2000. I was President from 2008 to 2014. We concentrate on teaching residents and attending surgeons long bone fracture treatment and advanced wound healing techniques. Over the years, over 30 orthopedists with diverse subspecialties have participated in mission trips. Anesthesiologists, CRNAs, scrub nurses, PTs, OTs, residents, students, product representatives and lay people have participated. Our goal is to affect a positive change in the practice of Orthopaedics in the nation of Nicaragua. Show less
