While at The Pratt Institute I served as a studio assistant for design studios 3 & 4, at which time Jeffrey Johnson was one of my students. For these two semesters I saw an individual who's designs allowed him to be recognized by peers and faculty as a leader in design concepts and execution, while retaining a calm and collective attitude that was contagious to those that worked near him. Through my time with Jeffrey I saw him grow from a strong individual designer in a individual project based studio, to a strong team leader, in the 4th semester group based studio. In both situations he showed his objectiveness to all possible design solutions ultimately resulting in very thoughtful and robust projects that have since been selected for Pratt's annual GAUD(graduate architecture + urban design) show, as well as the annual publication INPROCESS vol. 13 & 14. As soon to be graduate I feel that Jeffrey embodies all the necessary skills to continue to excel within the field of architecture ranging from a vast knowledge of nearly all current and relevant 3d modeling software's, adobe graphic software's, as well as extensive web design experience. In addition to a learned skill-set that ranges from physical and digital modeling to functioning as a team leader, I feel that Jeffrey facilitates an innate design talent that cannot be taught or learned allowing him to excel in any task that is put before him. I'll look forward to the work Jeffrey produces as a young architect and highly recommend him to any employer looking for a driven and talented individual.
