  My Physical education class provides opportunities for students to gain current knowledge of physical fitness, healthful living practices, leisure time pursuits, stress management techniques, and will receive instruction in the skills necessary for successful participation in activities necessary for optimum health and physical efficiency. My classroom philosophy is that physical education is an academic discipline, an essential portion of the General Education process. Further, the physical education curriculum is centered on the concept that movement skills, intellectual development, physical fitness, and healthful living practices are elements of life that must be taught and reinforced. In class students will learn Specific knowledge, skills, and practice techniques that best benefit each student. Instruction, analysis and evaluation by a certified professional are essential for implementing this philosophy. Activities in my course may include, but are not limited to the following: Health-related fitness components, fitness/wellness concepts, nutrition, goal setting, step aerobics, circuit training, weight training, resistance bands, jump ropes, walking, wellness center equipment, and multiple sport related skills.
