I perform biochemical experiments to study treatment options against neurodegenerative diseases in Prof. David Vocadlo's chemical glycobiology laboratory. Previously under supervision of Dr. Omid Tavassoly, I explored a new molecular mechanism of O-GlcNAcase(OGA) inhibitor reducing the uptake of toxic protein aggregates, for which the use of OGA inhibitor has been deployed into clinical trial (currently passed Phase 2) for treating pathologies associated with Alzheimer's diseases. My current focus is to expand these findings in preclinical animal models, and provide manuscript to be published on relevant journals. I also collaborate with the Translational Neuroscience Lab at SFU and the Wellington Lab at UBC to design and conduct brain injury studies to set up for exploring treatment options for intervening chronic pathologies. Accounting Bookkeeper

Jun 2017 - Aug 2018
I monitor the accounting book of a well-established ticketing company in the tourism industry using an accounting software Simply Accounting. My routine included regular surveillance and revising entry mistakes by our ticket sales agents, processing monetary transactions, issuing payroll on a timely basis, filing taxes, issuing payments for company expenses and generating monthly statements for our partner agencies. In the beginning of fiscal year, I prepared accounting data and entries from previous fiscal year necessary for our contracted accountant to generate financial statement for the company. In Apr-2018, I prepared reports for an interim financial statement as one of the required documents during the transition of company ownership. Show less

My mission as a "paraprofessional adviser" was to promote volunteer experience for students to seek engagement and expand their network throughout their post-secondary education. Through one-on-one consultation, I listened closely and recommended students with resources provided by SFU and local community to customize realistic volunteer plans that could help them toward their academic and/or career goals. Occasionally we hosted photo booths to spread the idea of learning through volunteer. As a senior member in my final year as an adviser, I took part in interviewing new candidates during recruitment. I also led in-person training sessions for each new member to practice advising skills prior to their assessment before entering into service. Periodically I collaborated with my fellow senior members to lead group training sessions. Show less
