Stationed offshore in a 5 weeks rotation schedule as Field Engineer on SHL’s Heavy Lift Vessels: The 2500mt Seaway Yudin and the 5000mt Seaway Strashnov. Working directly together with the (assistant) Superintendent and the project team. Responsibilities include, among others:• To manage steel production work on the vessel or yards for structural works for the client permanent structure or transport and installation aids, including preparing and maintaining the planning as well as the as-built and quality assurance.• To provide ad hoc engineering support and resolve technical queries and recommend alternative solutions to engineering problems on board the vessels.• To execute (engineering) construction tasks or provide construction crew or subcontractors with supervision, guidance or assistance in executing their tasks.• To take up the functional role of the offshore Project Engineer if required and provide on-site project management.• To prepare and update work packs of procedures, methods, drawings etc. for each phase of the work.• To prepare or review lift plans on board the vessels, in order to make engineered lifts or review in the function of LCP (Loler Competent Person).• To review engineering documents and procedures as prepared by the onshore team prior the beginning of the offshore phase.• To perform the setting out of work points and subsequent dimensional verification for grillages, seafastening and other deck fabrications in accordance with procedures and drawings.• To represent SHL on yards for mobilisation or de-mobilisation works or site visits.
