For over 16 years, served as marketing director for TEGNA-owned (formerly Gannett) NBC affiliate legacy station KSDK. My charge was to grow audience and engagement across multiple platforms and increase ratings and revenue. I was the company brand manager who oversaw all media relations, public relations, community affairs, production and marketing efforts. Involved hands-on with the creative process and strategic planning. Oversaw conception and execution of all marketing materials as well as station’s on-air and on-line visual look. Intimately involved in news product, production and content, maintaining brand management both internally and externally. Launched the station web site and continued as brand manager for ksdk.com and other digital platforms. Responsible for stations social media and built KSDK’s Facebook site to one of the top in the country with more than 430,000 fans. Initiated station twitter account and have built and managed site to over 125,000 followers. Managed millions of dollars in on-air and digital inventory, departmental budgets, and 14 employees. Responsible for public and media relations, stations community efforts and the production of station’s 1 hour daily program ‘Show Me St. Louis’. Helped in creation of “A Place to Call Home”, nationally acclaimed community initiative that has found forever homes for more than 600 foster children. Helped in building Komen St. Louis Race for the Cure into one of the largest in the world. Oversaw the purchase of all outside media for station marketing purposes. Served on national advisory boards for CBS Kingworld and NBC. Regional Marketing representative for NBC for more than 6 years. Vast experience working on various network and corporate initiatives and committees on local and national levels. Other projects included “Outdoors with Doug Miller,” prime time sports specials and entertainment programming. Other responsibilities included producing game coverage of BYU and Air Force Academy athletics including basketball, football, and gymnastics broadcasts for KSL television and syndication on the Video West and Blue & White Networks.
