I was with Aquaterra from the early days (when there were only 10 of us), so it was a great experience being involved in the growth to over 150 staff in 6 offices and three continents and thereafter, to the RPS take-over of Aquaterra. My roles included technical project direction, marketing and operational staff management. Predominantly involved in water supply and landfill related work, with some mining work. Left in 2001 when I moved to Perth. Started in Pretoria, but soon moved to the Cape Town office. After 7 years in the Hydrogeology section, I moved over the the Water Management section as Assistant Director in charge of landfill assessments and groundwater quality management. This was during the period when all landfills had to be assessed and licenced for the first time in South Africa. Started in Pretoria, but soon moved to the Cape Town office.
