I spent the first 3 months completing detailed design for the Norske Skog Albury Recycled Fibre plant automation upgrade to a Metso automation system. This project was cancelled due to capital cost reductions. I moved to a plant maintenance support engineer role that followed up on shift report logs. I was in this role for 3 months. I was the project engineer responsible for planning the refurbishment and upgrading of a manila batch digester plant. This project involved modifying the stock control and wet lap washing machine to feed a screw press to produced dried pulp for transport. This was an extremely hands-on role due to the limited budget of GBP 250,000. Due to this budget constraint, I was responsible for the following tasks: 1. All project technical planning, budget and schedule management. 2. PLC programming of Modicon PLC. 3. Process design of back end (digester pulp washing) system. 4. Mechanical supervision. 5. Electrical design and wiring. 6. Civil construction planning and supervision. 7. All procurement for all disciplines. After this was complete - I worked on a water treatment plant upgrade to add automation and monitoring equipment to the existing plant. Equipment commissioning Show less
