Moorambilla Voices Limited is a small arts organisation delivering unique musical and creative opportunities to children from ages 8-17 in the western region of NSW. The annual program comprises music workshops in schools, and residency camps and performances in regional towns. I was responsible for delivering the annual program, managing the finances, communications and grants, and working closely with the Board and the Artistic Director. Key focus of the role was delivering event and project management, involving 20 days of choral residency camps and performances in remote western NSW; requiring extensive liaison with schools, indigenous community working parties and elders, parents, community members, artists and suppliers. I oversaw three choir groups of over 200 participants and 100 volunteers who assist at camps. Organised the touring choir visit to Sydney and delivering their performance at the Sydney Opera House. Extensive communications were required with over 400 parents, 200 registered participants, 50 schools and 100 volunteers. I prepared press releases, media relations and promotions, newsletters, articles and interviews for local newspapers and regional radio. Managed hands-on website design and updates. Researching and preparing grant applications to government and philanthropic organisations, preparing acquittals, including for the Arts NSW, Australia Council Music Board and Indigenous Cultural Support (Australian Government) grants. Identifying appropriate philanthropic partners, interested in regional youth and indigenous youth. Strong financial management was required and regular weekly monitoring of cashflow, budgeting, financial reporting and analysis was important along with setting up sound business processes for administration. In May 2011 Moorambilla Voices was awarded Winner of the 2010 NSW State Award for Excellence by an Organisation at ART Music Awards of the Australasian Performing Right Association/Australian Music Centre.
