  • The Guild of Fine Food

    • Administrative Coordinator
      • Mar 2011 - Jul 2011

The Guild of Fine Food is a trade association working to promote speciality food and independent food producers and retailers. My role there was to do the admin for and coordinate The Great Taste Awards which is being organised every year. With more than 7500 products being tested and evaluated in a 3 month's period this was a very challenging and varied job. Day to day communication with the companies entering the award and problem solving was a big part of the job as well as insuring correct data updating and labeling as the products came in. Other tasks included assistance on PR events and reception and office work. Being able to take initiative and organising many varied tasks was key to this job function as well as insuring accuracy in the planning process. Show less

Working at an international hotel has given me great opportunities to communicate with many different people in both Danish and English. As a part of the reception team, I was the first and the last person the guests encounter when arriving and leaving the hotel and the one they expect to solve any problem or query they may have. As such, I am trained in handling many different kinds of service tasks and always do more than the guests expect to ensure their stay is enjoyable and hassle free. The communication tasks spread across communication via phone, e-mail and face to face with guests, employees, headquarters and external business partners. As well as their comfort, I was responsible for the guests' safety while at the hotel and had to be able to handle hectic situations and take control of the situation when required as well as securing the hotel. My responsibilities also included sales tasks, ensuring the best price possible for each room as well as additional sales of internal products. I also worked with some administrative tasks such as creating reports and statistics, accounting, cataloging, restocking and preparation of guests and conference clients. This job position was very varied and required that I could act independently, quickly and professionally to any situation often in a hectic environment. Show less
