As a teaching assistant, I collaborated with 6-8 instructors each week to develop and independently deliver highly interactive, culturally relevant English lessons for 250 university students focused on building confidence in speaking English. Following my Americorps term, I continued in the same organization and assisted in managing weekday farmers markets around downtown Seattle including on-site problem solving, vendor coordination, sales reports/vendor billing, and assisting customers. Also helped with packing and delivering weekly 250 member CSA & 100 City of Seattle FreshBucks to Go shares. Wrote or edited weekly info sheet with nutrition facts, farmer features, and recipes. Pike Place Market Food Access Program

Working with the farmers market team at Pike Place PDA, I developed an SNAP-compatible, sliding-scale payment option for market’s weekly CSA program, and did monthly reimbursement reporting for this and additional programs. I also planned and did outreach for market-wide initiatives to increase access to healthy food in the downtown Seattle core with a focus on elderly, low-income residents of Pike Place Market. In this role I was responsible for a variety of admin roles including managing communications, website, design of printed/online materials, volunteer coordination, daily bookkeeping, HR paperwork, scholarship program, and community outreach. Also assisted as office liaison to fundraising committee in developing and launching annual fundraising campaign, including database management, design of materials, and community outreach. With other senior staff members, I regularly planned and helped onsite at events with up to 200 attendees.

Instructor/Race Coach

Seasonally, I planned and taught sailing, paddling, and STEM camps for youth 5-17 and classes for adults.I also led groups of youth and adults with physical & developmental disabilities in adaptive sailing/paddling outings and classes through Outdoors for All, Seattle Parks, and Seattle Children’s. For two seasons, I coached and managed youth race team practices, regattas, and travel (2013/2014).
