Jeanine is a visionary. She is empathetic and innovative, passionate, collaborative, grounded and ethical. All characteristics of a great leader. I had the honor of working with Jeanine for more than three years in Medaille’s Office of College Relations. She wasn’t just a colleague, she was my mentor. And it is because of her guidance and leadership that I have seen such success in my career. When I began working with Jeanine I had just assumed responsibilities of Medaille’s Annual Fund – I longed to be successful in my new position, to be a change maker. I wanted these things but I wasn’t necessarily sure how to achieve them. That’s when I turned to Jeanine. She provided me with an insurmountable amount of guidance. She challenged me to look at problems through multiple lenses, to dig deep within myself to connect with donors in a thoughtful way, to be critical to ensure the best possible results, and to not be afraid to address difficult situations through communication.

I had the privilege of working with and learning from Jeanine Purcell for two and a half years in Medaille College’s Office of College Relations. Jeanine is a talented development professional who thinks strategically and brings great value to any team she is a part of. As the director of philanthropy, Jeanine is donor-centered and focused on providing meaningful engagement opportunities for graduates, employees, and friends of the College. Her natural ability to connect with others allows her to develop genuine relationships, which are instrumental in securing support for and advancement of the school’s mission. Jeanine has a positive attitude, is a team player, and displays leadership in all that she does. I would be remiss if I didn’t also acknowledge that she is generous in sharing her knowledge and experience with others, acting as an invaluable mentor to young professionals like myself.
