Served as a Cultural Anthropologist in Ethiopia, Africa while working in a deployed field environment. Designed and implemented cultural surveys of the Oromo tribal peoples in the southern Borena region of Ethiopia. Continuously living and working with a group of medical professionals and volunteers. This research involved ascertaining the value and cultural relativity of the Emergency Medical Program, which sought to aid malnourished children/pregnant and lactating women. Upon returning to the USA, I prepared a written report based on findings and presented an orientation, status and "after-action" debriefing for IMC staff and program managers. This briefing included updates on status and outcomes of research and provided recommendations as to the betterment of said program. Show less
