General Manager Airport Operations
-
Dec 2005 - Aug 2013
In my role, I provided leadership and direction to coordinate the daily operations of a fast-paced airport division where I worked effectively under very aggressive deadlines to adhere to all compliance regulations consistently. I managed and supervised a productive and efficient team and collaborated with Regional Managers to oversee successful and effective commercial activities that drove revenue and exceeded business objectives. Communicating professionally and effectively, I negotiated lower tax rates for passengers and visa exemptions for crewmembers, and I was proactive in effective crisis management and emergency response preparation. I took a lead role in safe practices during a three-month strike, hurricanes and volcanic ash issues. My core achievements were to develop and execute new policies that drove PTP and FDF to the most profitable American Eagle station in the Caribbean, and I liaised with Tourism Board, Local Authorities, Travel Agents, Tour Operators and Hotel Mangers to develop and implement marketing initiatives that significantly enhance sales and increase flights from 2 – 3 daily. Additionally, I spearheaded new pricing policies and re-organised airport sales office and corporate group bookings, and I successfully negotiated re-opening of Martinique (FDF) airport. Show less

Regional General Manager
-
Dec 1999 - Dec 2005
As a natural leader, I managed and directed the Guadeloupe (PTP) and Martinique (FDF) station openings and worked successfully to achieve business objectives with an aggressive timescale. I was responsible for the successful transition of American Airlines in the development of the subsidiary, American Eagle. I liaised with Airport Authorities and Governmental Agencies to collaborate and negotiate effective contracts for ground handling practices, and I supervised a driven team of employees. My core achievements are to lead new security procedures and facilitate effective training programs after 9/11 terrorist attacks, and I oversaw the translation and revision of AA security programs that comply with US, France and European directives. I took quick action in response to a sudden closure of Martinique station to re-route passengers and communicate with media personnel, and I took a practical approach to minimize impact on customers. I resolved complex problems in adherence with all policies and regulations. I successfully achieved high standards of performance in the areas of quality service, dependability, cost controls, profitability, safety and security. Show less

Reporting to a regional manager based in London, I lead the efficient daily operations as well as the re-organisation of the Manchester Station.
