The Kidney Cancer Association is a global community dedicated to serving and empowering patients andcaregivers, and leading change through advocacy, research, and education to be the universal leader infinding the cure for kidney cancer. Founded in 1990 by Eugene P. Schonfeld and a small group ofpatients and doctors in Chicago, Illinois, the KCA has grown into an international non-profit organizationbased in Houston, Texas. The KCA promotes scientific advances through two annual research symposiaand a robust grant program, participates in legislative advocacy, and seeks to be a source of educationand resources for patients, caregivers, and anyone impacted by kidney cancer. The KCA’s annual International Kidney Cancer Symposiums (IKCS) held in the U.S. in the fall andEurope in the spring are an opportunity for physicians, researchers, academics, and industryprofessionals from across the globe to join and exchange ideas that will direct the future of kidneycancer research and treatment in the ultimate pursuit of a cure. I oversee the operations and provide logistical support of IKCS: North America, IKCS: Europe and theannual Virtual Patient Symposium.
