Undergraduate Researcher, Winfree Lab
-
Jun 2022 - Present
I carried out computational research with the Winfree Lab, exploring the applications of Surface Chemical Reaction Networks (CRNs) in solving constraint satisfaction problems. I implemented effective graph k-coloring solvers and Hopfield neural networks with Surface CRNs. I presented my research via poster at the 28th International Conference on DNA Computing and Molecular Programming (DNA 28) in August 2022 and plan to publish a paper. I have also been selected as a semifinalist for the 2022 Perpall Speaking Prize at Caltech, given my presentation on my research. I continue to work with the Winfree lab. Show less

Undergraduate Researcher, Hong Lab
-
Apr 2022 - Present
I carried out wet-lab research with the Hong Lab exploring mRNA extraction and purification of the OR42 receptor gene from a non-model organism (Lucilia Cuprina). This was done in the hope of inserting the gene into a transgenic model organism (Drosophila) as a basis for further study. I continue to work with the Hong lab, further studying gene expression and manipulation in flies.

I was a TA in the Mathematics department under Professor Paul Bamberg. I TA’d: RA-23 (a 2-week Real Analysis class), Math 23a Linear Algebra and Real Analysis I, Math 23c Mathematics for Computation and Data Science, and Math J23c (covering 5 weeks of Math 23c). I ran sections and office hours for College, Graduate, and Extension students. I wrote quiz questions, tested draft exams, and graded student exams. I also built an app to present mathematical proofs. I was a TA in the Mathematics department under Professor Paul Bamberg.
