TelespectraClient Data network included - Cisco routers and a number of switches located across New Mexico, Arizona, and Southern California.Client Network had no means of automatic router configuration backup Our Senior Project group (Greentell Communications) created a custom router backup configuration utility called Router Backup Pro that allows an administrator to enter a router or switch into the system, setup when the administrator would like the backup to be performed, view the backup configurations acquired, compare two configuration to track changes and select a configuration to be the default for the router to use in conjunction with tftp (Trivial File Transport Protocol).Router Backup Pro was scripted in using the Linux bash shell with a few optional Perl Commands. The Program took advantage of modular design, which will allow new functionality to be integrated with minimal effort. The program was designed with robust input validation. In addition to creating this utility we were also requested by Telespectra to set up a Ghost Server to backup cretin mission critical servers, and to aide in consolidating the user interface for Pipeview, Telespectra's client management utility. All client requirements were met or exceeded. Out of the 11 competing Network and Communications project teams, out team was rewarded Best Technical Merit.
