I had the pleasure of attending HBS with Derek. His hard-working approach was further exemplified by his ability to communicate very effectively. His understanding of the changing landscape internationally provides him a unique perspective on business matters across the spectrum. I learned that he could be quite outspoken on matters he understands and is just as comfortable asking questions on matters he knows less. Derek demonstrates strong and devoted passion for issues and friends he holds dear. Jointly with his strong analytical mind, Derek carries true leadership qualities. I highly recommend him and look forward to collaborating with him in the future.

I had the extreme pleasure of meeting and studying with Derek at HBS. Derek's ability to manage the detail while clearly seeing the strategy and the big picture are second to none. His level of commitment, organization and leadership stand out as soon as you meet him and even more so, once you've had a chance to work with, or be led by him. He inspires his team, leading through example and at the same time is very humble and collaborative. My wish is to work with Derek again in the near future.

LandForge identifies, acquires, and profitably transitions underutilized properties to their highest and best use. This is accomplished through creating physical environments, and their associated infrastructure, that provide rich spaces for people to live, work, and play. These places bring together diverse people, foster relationships, and inspire people to become vested in, value, and maintain the space, thereby creating Places People Love. As a consultant at Collaborative Partners I provided asset disposition, physical plant expansion, and strategic planning advisory services to public sector, non-profit, and for-profit clients. Through a facilitative medium I matched clients' business plan objectives to real estate needs and ultimately lead the implementation process as an owner representative from conception through completion.
