On one of the recent workstreams we both worked on was incredibly complicated - there were multiple large work packages delivering into the program, and just the one work package my teams were responsible for spanned six different product teams under me with a sophisticated parallel delivery pipeline with many internal and external milestones. Dom quickly unraveled all of the aspects of the program he was thrown into, dove in deep with technical and non-technical stakeholders so he could understand the deliveries, the risks, inbound and outbound dependencies, and timelines for each work product and the overall program. He raised risks appropriately, cleared blockers, worked across teams, delivered reports to leadership to ensure they understood the program and its current positioning.
